Spedition Remmen wants to act in an ecologically and economically responsible manner

Bedburg-Hau, a municipality to the east of Kleve, is the headquarters of the German thermal shipping company Remmen. A 640 Wp system with eight solar modules was installed on a Scania truck there on 26 August 2022. Workshop foreman Sascha Gipmanns is very satisfied with this application.

“As a freight forwarder specialising in heat transport, reducing CO2 emissions is important to us. We are aware that transport has a major impact on the environment and therefore want to do our bit. That’s why we decided to install a solar system from Green Energy,” says Sascha.

Beneficial for the company and the world

By utilising this renewable energy source, they can significantly reduce their CO2 emissions. “Our diesel consumption can be reduced by around 650 litres per year. Using the solar system also gives us the certainty that our vehicles are always ready to start. By reducing downtime, our engines are protected and operating costs are lowered overall. This not only makes ecological sense, but is also economically advantageous for us as a company. We are proud to play our part in preserving our environment and hope that we can inspire other companies to find more sustainable transport solutions.”

The savings

The following comparison shows a lorry with a bucket whose consumption was recorded 6 weeks before and 6 weeks after the installation of a 640 Wp MIPV system. The rear column shows the fuel consumption at idling speed. When idling alone, the MIPV system saves around 650 litres of diesel (1.7 tonnes of CO2) in one year.
