Remco’s career path

Remco has actually worked in the automotive sector his entire working life. In 2021, Remco came to Wijlhuizen via a competitor. “At my previous job, I worked in air brakes for about 15 years and I now represent that group again at Wijlhuizen as Product Manager. Through those years of experience, I have naturally already built up quite a lot of knowledge and a good network that I can put to good use here at Wijlhuizen.”

Why choose Wijlhuizen?

“I really like working at Wijlhuizen. I specifically chose Wijlhuizen because there is a real commitment to growth here. Investments are being made in the company, acquisitions of other companies are taking place and this is how we remain the biggest in the Benelux and are growing more and more.”

As for his own work, Remco is also very satisfied. “I like the fact that my own product line, air brakes, is going well. There is stable growth and I can always meet the targets. Furthermore, not only the turnover is growing, but also the number of new products we offer. This allows us to continuously expand the product range. As a result, the company grows again and we really show the outside world that we are a major player in Europe. If I had to mention something I would like to improve myself in, it would be my language skills. Now and then, suppliers come here to the head office in Arnhem and I wish my German were a bit better. But fortunately I manage just fine.”

“…As a result, the company is also growing again and we also really radiate to the outside world that we are a big player in Europe. I am happy to have a part in that!”

Remco

One of eight

“In our department, there is a very good atmosphere. There are eight of us Product Managers and we all get along very well. Sometimes perhaps too well,” laughs Remco. “There is always time for a joke, but if something needs to be discussed seriously, it definitely happens. So I think there is a perfect balance in the department. But I think it’s like that throughout the company. Contact is always good with everyone. That’s how it should be, of course. One department cannot exist without the other.”

Future

“Overall, I hope that my groups keep getting bigger and bigger and that things continue as they are now. As I said, there is a lot of growth in my product line and I would like to keep it that way in the coming years. But the way things are going now, I am very satisfied!”
